Join Mowat Court for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Mowat Court is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 20th April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Mowat Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92ndbirthday, Mowat Court has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include live music from Jim Ruxton and Barnie Munroe, Mowat Court residents’ relatives. There will also be a traditional afternoon tea and complimentary refreshments. Visitors will have a chance to meet Mowat Court’s friendly team members and take a closer look at the care home.

Kirsten Bell, home manager at Mowat Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations. 

“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Mowat Court has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Aberdeen for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
