On Friday 20th April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Tor-Na-Deewill be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
The team Tor-Na-Deehas organised a Commonwealth themed party to celebrate the open day, with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth, decorating the home. Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities throughout the day, including musical entertainment from residents’ relatives Jim Ruxton and Barnie Munroe and a mini railway running in the home’s garden. There will also be a tea party and complimentary refreshments.
Maureen Barrett, home manager at Tor-Na-Dee,said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“Residents have enjoyed taking inspiration from countries across the Commonwealth and creating bunting ready to decorate the home on Care Home Open Day. We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase the residents’ homemade decorations and everything that Tor-Na-Dee has to offer. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Aberdeen.”
