Manor Lodge celebrates another successful Care Home Open Day

Home news

It was a day of celebrations fit for a queen at Manor Lodge when it invited the local community in for a family friendly event.

The team at Manor Lodge welcomed the people of Chelmsford to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a royal-inspired garden party with a special afternoon tea and live entertainment from local musician, Brian Shaw, who performed a selection of the residents’ favourite songs from the 1940s.

The care home’s chefs also prepared a special ‘Old English Grub’ supper for everyone to enjoy.

Julianna Miles, home manager at Manor Lodge, said: “We had a fantastic day celebrating Care Home Open Day here at Manor Lodge. The residents all really enjoyed the royal activities and it was brilliant to see so many of our neighbours come along for the party.

“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like, and we would like to say a big thank you to the people of Chelmsford for celebrating with us.”
