The team at Snowdrop House welcomed 24 children from Ware Fifth Brownies for an evening of song and dance with the residents.
The visit was organised in conjunction with ‘The World Rocks Against Dementia’ (WRAD), an international initiative to raise awareness of dementia and to promote music therapy for older people.
The Brownies gave a special performance of some of their favourite songs, and presented residents with gifts to mark the occasion.
Snowdrop Househome manager, Cheryl Forshaw, said: “Here at Snowdrop House it is important to embed ourselves in the local community and build relationships with our neighbours, and we know how beneficial intergenerational projects like this can be for the residents.
“We had a fantastic time with Ware Fifth Brownies and the residents are looking forward to spending more time with them over the coming months as we welcome them back to the home for some fun activities.”
When asked about the initiative, Kath Argent, from Ware Fifth Brownies said: “Our Brownies very much enjoyed meeting residents and staff at Snowdrop House. We look forward to doing more with them in the future.”
