Knebworth invites local people to a right royal knees up

Knebworth is opening its doors to the local community for a special celebration to mark the upcoming royal wedding. 

On Saturday 19th May, from 11.30am the team at Knebworth is inviting local people for a ‘right royal knees up’ and to raise a glass to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. 

The home will be adorned with union jack bunting and residents will have their British flags at the ready for a live screening of the wedding. The care team are hosting a ‘wedding reception’ for residents and visitors complete with canapés, favours and even a replica of Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake. 

There will also be a photo booth and props including silhouettes of the royal couple, to help everyone to commemorate the day. 

Vera Moreira-Henocq, home manager at Knebworth, said:“We were all so excited when we heard there was to be another royal wedding, and knew we had to do something to celebrate! 

“Here at Knebworth, many of the residents have fond memories of the royal family and the many weddings and celebrations over the years, so this is a brilliant opportunity to reminisce and share stories from the past. 

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the people of Woolmer Green to the home and to toasting the happy couple on what promises to be a wonderful day of celebrations.”
