On Friday 18th May, from 11am-4pm, Larkland House is inviting local people for a ‘right royal knees up’ and to raise a glass to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The home will be adorned with union jack bunting and residents will have their British flags at the ready as they prepare to commemorate the occasion. Residents and visitors will be able to take part in a variety of themed crafts, including making wedding cards and paper crowns. There will also be a musical performance from a local singer to get everyone in the party spirit.
In the afternoon, there will be a special afternoon tea prepared by the home’s chefs, including a three tiered cake in the colours of the union jack.
Shawnwell Barker, home manager at Larkland House, said: “We were all so excited when we heard there was to be another royal wedding, and knew we had to do something to celebrate!
“Here at Larkland House, many of the residents have fond memories of the royal family and the many weddings and celebrations over the years, so this is a brilliant opportunity to reminisce and share stories from the past.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the people of Ascot to the home and to toasting the happy couple for what promises to be a wonderful day of celebrations.”
