Anne Farmer, from Bladon, took part in a competition to name the new home which opens early next year.
The competition called for the people who know the town best, its residents, to share suggestions which had cultural or historical reference to the town.
Anne came up with the name Millers Grange, to reflect the importance of the cloth weaving industry which has been synonymous with the area for more than 900 years – and played an important role in the development of the town.
Daniel Turner -Naylor, regional director at Care UK, said: “The home naming process is one of the key milestones for the new home, so it was important to involve the community in the decision. All of the names put forward were of a very high quality, but we felt Millers Grange was original and really rooted the home in the local area.
“We’re so grateful to everyone that made a name suggestion and Anne for coming up with the winning name.”
Anne Farmer said: “I have lived in the Witney area for many years, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of the town’s history, I leapt at the chance.
“I am delighted Millers Grange has been selected and think it’s a lovely way of preserving the heritage of Witney and celebrating the history of the town – and the people who live here.”
