A national watchdog has given a care home in Witney its seal of approval following an unannounced inspection.
Care UK’s Millers Grange, on Curbridge Road, was awarded a ‘good’ rating across all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as part of its two-day evaluation.

The home was assessed across safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership. The report spotlighted the positive sentiments expressed by residents and visiting professionals, with one resident informing the inspectors of the joyful atmosphere at the home.
They said: “The atmosphere is very happy; I would recommend this home to others.”
Inspectors also highlighted team members’ knowledge of residents’ preferences, wishes and individual life experiences, and how they incorporate this information into providing the best possible care. The report picked out how the team “took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics” when planning activities, events and meals.
Most residents also have a personalised box by the door to their room, which contains things that are important to them.
Rachel Scurr, Home Manager at Millers Grange, said: “Our commitment to delivering high-quality care is unwavering and we are proud to see this endorsement from the CQC. We believe every resident deserves the best possible care and support, and this rating validates our ongoing efforts to meet and exceed these standards.
“Everyone has contributed to making Millers Grange an unparalleled place to live and work. This ‘good’ rating stands as a testament to everyone’s dedication to brightening each resident’s day.
“I’m so proud of the team members, who work so hard to make residents’ lives enjoyable and rewarding. It’s always great to hear such positive feedback and I look forward to celebrating this achievement with the team and continuing to build on our success in delivering exceptional care.”
Millers Grange is a modern care home that provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, it has its very own cinema, café and hair and beauty salon, and there is plenty of space both in and outdoors for relaxation and recreation.
