The team at Woodland Hall welcomed the people of Stanmore to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
The team marked the occasion by throwing a Commonwealth-themed party. The home organised a whole day of family-friendly activities, with visitors and residents enjoying giant board games, a tombola, and pampering sessions with hand massages and manicures.
There was also a live musical performance from steel drum player Shareen Gray, which got everyone in the party spirit.
Olga Richardson, home manager at Woodland Hall, said: “We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day at Woodland Hall. The residents all really enjoyed the steel drum band performance, and they had a fantastic time playing games with our neighbours and getting pampered.
“Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community and showing what life in a care home is really like, so it was brilliant to see so many of our neighbours come along to celebrate. We would like to say a big thank you to the people of Stanmore for making the day so special.”
