On Wednesday 4th July, from 10.30am-12.30pm, the home is welcoming experts to give advice to the community at a free talk.
Ann Hunt and Lesley Pilbrow from West Suffolk Community Services will be visiting the home to offer guidance and information on preventing falls and maintaining independence.
As well as discussing the common causes of slips and trips, falls prevention specialist, Sam Reid will also be on hand to provide expert advice on how to create safer environments for older people, as well as discussing the activities and exercises that individuals and their relatives can implement to help improve their loved ones’ balance.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Davers Court and take a tour of the care home if they wish.
Davers Court home manager, Wendy Harvey, said: “Here at Davers Court, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents and older people, as accidentalfalls can occasionally lead to further health issues.
“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Davers Court for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
