On Saturday 16th June from 10am-4pm, Silversprings will be turning the clock back to 1940s Britain with wartime dancingfrom Air Raid Jive, nostalgic culinary displays and battle re-enactments.
The Suffolk Regiment will be in attendance and there will be the opportunity for residents and visitors to take a closer look at wartime vehicles, including areal MKII Spitfire.
Guests can browse the shops at the home’s ‘WWII Village’ and local singers, Swingtime Sweethearts, will be on hand with patriotic classics to get everyone into the party spirit.
Silversprings home manager, Donna Cousins, said: “Here at Silversprings, we regularly host reminiscence activities and events for residents, as many of them have fond memories of their younger years and have stories they love to share.
“We are delighted to be hosting a day packed full of family fun, entertainment and nostalgia, and to be taking a step back in time with residents and visitors. From musical performances and dancing to vintage cars and re-enactments, we have something for everyone.
“We look forward to welcoming local people to the home for what promises to be a fantastic day for all ages!”
