On Wednesday 5th September, from 10am - 12 noon, the team at the home will be hosting a Sue Ryder, Dementia Together session.
The informative session aims to enable and empower people affected by dementia to make their own choices, feel in control of their lives, and live well with dementia. Residents and visitors at Mildenhall lodge will be joined by dementia navigator at Sue Ryder Dementia Together, Lisa Frain.
Lisa will be on hand to provide practical advice on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers.
After the event there will be a Q&A session and the opportunity to meet the friendly team at Mildenhall Lodge, as well as take a closer look at the care home.
Katy Hughes, home manager at Mildenhall Lodge said:“We know that looking after a friend or relative living with dementia can be challenging. It’s natural to feel confused about how to behave, and our event aims to offer professional knowledge and insight for those who need it – as well as provide a hub for sharing experiences.
“We want people to know they’re not alone, and we’re here to offer support. We’re delighted to be working with Lisa and the team at Sue Ryder on this event and look forward to welcoming local people to the home for an inspiring morning of information and guidance.”
