Get creative at Catherine Court this Care Home Open Day

Catherine Court is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 28th June, from 11am - 4pm, the team at Catherine Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.

Catherine Court has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward to polishing their skills in an arts and crafts session, and tapping their feet to live entertainment from Nik Stoter, a West End Performer. To top off the day, guests will also be treated to an afternoon tea specially prepared by Catherine Court chefs.

Yvonne Keating, home manager at Catherine Court, said: “Creative activities are such an important part of life for people in care, whether it’s painting to help enhance hand-eye coordination, or just reminiscing by putting on some music – the arts are a vital part of life here at Catherine Court.

“We’re so excited to be hosting our Care Home Open Day event on Friday 28th June. We had a brilliant time when we did this last year so it made sense for us to open our doors to the local people of High Wycombe again and show them just how much fun you can have in a care home.”
