On Friday 28th June, from 10am - 5.30pm, the team at Cavell Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event to celebrate Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
This year’s theme celebrates the role of arts within care, which is important in encouraging residents’ self-expression, and helps to create meaningful experiences.
Cavell Court has organised an art-themed party to celebrate the open day, with entertainment, activities and creative fun. Visitors can look forward tosinging duo Time Scape, who will be performing songs from the 1940s, and local art group, Creative Emojo, that will be creating work with residents and visitors. There will also be a tasty barbecue on offer for everyone to enjoy.
Jennie Rodger, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “Everyone at Cavell Court is so excited to welcome the local community in for Care Home Open Day 2019. The people of Cringleford have always been so welcoming to us, it’s great to be able to give something back.
“This year’s theme of ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’ is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase all the brilliant activities we get up to on a daily basis here at Cavell Court, such as art workshops, so we hope that lots of local people will join us in June.”
