Residents at a care home in West Drayton are gearing up to take part in some avian-themed activities this January.

Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes place from Saturday 25^th January to Monday 27^th January, residents will be taking part in a variety of activities related to our feathered friends, as well as topping up their bird feeders and counting the birds in their garden.

Alongside Care UK homes across the country, The Burroughs, on Mill Road, will be celebrating the best of British birds by making bird feeders for the home’s garden.

Bozena Szczepaniak, home manager at The Burroughs, explained why exploring our wildlife is an important activity: “Everyone is really looking forward to celebrating British birds this January and learning more about our feathered friends. We’ve been researching British birds common to West Drayton and are very excited to be making bird feeders for our lovely garden.

“Residents here at The Burroughs have a keen interest in nature, so we thought that researching local birds, as well as birdwatching would be the perfect way to discover local wildlife. We’d like to thank RSPB for inspiring us to get involved - we can’t wait to get started!”
