Cringleford care home thanks local community for their support

Cringleford care home thanks local community for their supportA care home in Cringleford has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Cavell Court, on Dragonfly Lane, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Norwich, over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Cavell Court was inundated with support, receiving drawings from the youngsters at Crackerjack Pre-School, handmade crocheted hearts from Lisa Mac, as well as laundry bags and hand creams for team members dropped off by members of the community.

Volunteers from Mandalay Wellbeing Community Interest Group have also delivered tokens of appreciation, which have included treats from Norwich City FC, beautiful cupcakes from Kerry’s Bouqcakes, food donations from Aldi and Waitrose, flowers from Marks and Spencers, and hand sanitiser from FlintGroup.

Residents have also enjoyed socially distanced musical performances from local entertainer, Ben Lake, and year ten student Jemima.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities or supporting residents to communicate with their families remotely, team members at Cavell Court have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Karen Curle, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “We want to thank everyone in Norwich for their continued kindness throughout this challenging time.

“Here at Cavell Court, we play an active role in our community, and it’s been overwhelming to see how many people have reached out to support us in the last couple of months.

“Both residents and team members are looking forward to welcoming back local people into Cavell Court to say thank you when we are able.”

Cavell Court is a modern care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hairdressers, and there is plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
