Celebrations as Leamington Spa care home unveils new nursing suite

A care home in Leamington Spa celebrated the launch of its brand-new suite.  

Care UK’s Priors House, on Old Milverton Lane, unveiled a new nursing suite, which will be home to up to 15 residents. 

The Jephson Suite is located on the home’s ground floor and features a communal lounge space and dining room, as well as an access to the garden and the pet therapy room, which is home to Laurel and Hardy, Priors House’s guinea pigs. The suite will cater to residents with a variety of complex needs and conditions, including Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and stroke, who will be cared for by a highly qualified and experienced nursing team. 

Opened in June 2014, Priors House promotes activity-based care, which puts residents’ background and interests at the heart of everything they do. The home’s lifestyle team regularly organise activities which encourage reminiscence and intergenerational relationships, taking part in national events such as the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and the Big Draw Festival. 

Francine Summers, home manager at Priors House, said: “The unveiling of our new suite is an important milestone for all of us, as it means we can now meet the demand in Leamington Spa and beyond for nursing care.

Priors House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation. The home has a comprehensive activity programme, offering a mix of themed events, group activities and days out.
