High rollers all round at Hailsham care home

Highlighted home news

Residents rolled the dice at a care home in Hailsham when the home team surprised everyone with a pop-up casino.

The team at Care UK’s Bowes House, on Battle Road, went all-in for the ‘casino and mocktails’ event, with team members dressed as croupiers and residents given ‘Bowes House Casino Tokens’ to try their luck.High rollers all round at Hailsham care home

On the day, the home was adorned with black and red décor to recreate a true Vegas atmosphere, while residents put on their glad-rags to beat the house in casino staples such as roulette.

To top it off, players were treated to homemade mocktails specially prepared by the Bowes House team.

Linda, a resident at Bowes House, said: “It was great fun! I really enjoyed trying the roulette, and the mocktails were delicious.”

Home Manager at Bowes House, Ryan Harris, said: “We are always looking to plan interesting and exciting activities here at Bowes House, and when one team member suggested bringing the casino to residents, we all agreed it was a fantastic idea.

“Our pop-up casino was a great opportunity for residents to reminisce about fun times of days gone by. It proved to be a real success, and you could see from residents’ reactions just how much they enjoyed playing the different games and trying to beat the house – all while enjoying homemade mocktails.

“The team went all in on this event, so it was fantastic to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.”
