Bromsgrove care home celebrates launch of new residential suite

A care home in Bromsgrove celebrated the launch of its brand-new suite. 

Care UK’s Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, has unveiled a new residential suite which will become home to up to 21 residents. 

The Housman Suite, located on the home’s second floor, features its own communal lounge space and dining room, as well as access to a games room and outside balcony. The layout has been designed to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities within the home. 

One of the recent residents to move into Chandler Court, Joan Rigley, aged 90, was invited to cut the ribbon to celebrate the home’s new suite in the presence of its first two residents. To add to the celebrations, everyone was treated to cakes and a glass of bubbly.

Vongai Mushinga, Home Manager at Chandler Court, said: “It was a pleasure to have one of the first residents cutting the ribbon to mark this special occasion – thank you Joan! 

“The unveiling of our new suite is an important milestone for all of us, as it means we can now meet the demand in Bromsgrove and beyond for residential care. It was great to showcase the types of care we will be able to offer to the local community and show just what life is like at Chandler Court.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the opening. We look forward to welcoming residents to their new home and ensuring their care needs are met holistically, no matter the support they require.”

Chandler Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, café and hair salon, and there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
