Kidderminster care home invites local community to ‘meet the manager’

A care home in Kidderminster is opening its doors to the community for a ‘meet the manager’ event as it welcomes a new face to the team. 

On Saturday 18^th March, from 11am-2pm, Brook Court, on Oldnall Road, is welcoming local people to meet the home’s new manager, Shirley Gibbs, and the friendly Care UK team.

The event will give visitors the opportunity to get to know Shirley, as well as taking a closer look at the care home and its facilities. Guests can also enjoy light nibbles prepared by the home’s Head Chef. 

Shirley took over as Home Manager at Brook Court earlier this year, having worked at Care UK since 2018. Bringing over 44 years’ experience, Shirley has worked in the care sector since she was just 16 years old, which has included working at several Care UK homes, including Mercia Grange.

Shirley said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the local community into the home for this event and I am looking forward to meeting our neighbours. I’ve been in the Care UK family for over three years now and always strive to create the best environment for residents and their loved ones.

“Our team takes great care in creating a wonderful home for the residents, and the event later this month is a great opportunity for the community to see what it is like here at Brook Court.”  

Brook Court is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The care home, which features 67 en-suite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
