Banbury care home invites local people to a right royal knees-up

Home news

A care home in Banbury is opening its doors to the local community for a street party fit for a king to mark the upcoming royal coronation.

On Friday 5th May, from 3pm-4:30pm, Care UK’s Highmarket House, on North Bar Place, is inviting local people for a ‘right royal knees up’ and to raise a glass of bubbly to King Charles.

The fun-filled party will see guests receive the royal treatment, with live entertainment from popular local band, Arway, who will be performing classic tunes throughout the event – sure to get everyone in the party spirit.

Visitors will be treated to a quintessentially British afternoon tea, complete with a variety of classic sandwiches and cakes, whipped up by the home’s talented chefs.

Celebrating in true British style, the home will be adorned with union jack bunting and residents will have their British flags at the ready.

Francesca Cowley, Home Manager at Highmarket House, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the nation, and here at Highmarket House we were keen to create a special event for residents and the wider community to commemorate such a significant milestone.

“Everyone at Highmarket House loves a good party, and the coronation of the King is certainly cause for celebration. It’s a great opportunity for residents that remember the Queen’s coronation to reminisce and share their memories with the younger generation, as well as create new memories around the King’s coronation at the same time.

“We’re looking forward to opening our doors to the community and welcoming the people of Banbury for what promises to be a truly memorable event – come along and join us for a regally good time!”

Highmarket House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
