A care home in Banbury hosted a special gardening workshop to mark the launch of their new gardening club.
Care UK’s Highmarket House, on North Bar Place, was in full bloom as green-fingered residents spent the afternoon building wicker plant pots and sharing their love of gardening.

The session, held as part of National Gardening Week, was led by volunteer Milly Spencer, who traded gardening advice with residents.
Earlier in the week, residents also took part in a flower arranging workshop with Colette’s Flowers, where they learnt the basics of putting together spring-themed displays.
Angela, a resident at Highmarket House, said: “The nicer weather is very enjoyable, and it’s lovely to be planting again after a long winter.”
Future workshops, held on the third Monday of every month from 3pm, will be open to the community, allowing all gardening lovers to come together and connect over their shared interest.
Francesca Cowley, Home Manager at Highmarket House, said: “Gardening is a much-loved activity here at Highmarket House. It’s a great way for the residents to stay active, enjoy some fresh air and express their creativity.
“We’ve had an exciting time launching our first gardening club, and residents loved making their very own wicker plant pots and learning all about flower arranging. We’d like to say a big thank you to Milly and Colette’s Flowers to help us get started in the best possible way.
“Now, we can’t wait to welcome the community to join residents in our workshops.”
