History in the making – Erdington’s new care home to be named Elderflower Grange

A brand-new multi-million-pound care home currently being built in Erdington has officially unveiled its name.

Care UK, the care home provider behind the brand-new care home currently being built on Orphanage Road in Erdington, has announced the home will be named Elderflower Grange when it opens in April 2026.

The name Elderflower Grange will be mirrored in the home’s interior design, with an elderflower inspired colour theme incorporated in the home’s communal areas. To further echo the theme, elderflowers will also be cultivated in the home’s outdoor spaces. Upon completion in spring next year, the home will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 77 older people and will create 95 new jobs.

The home is being developed by Liberty Care Developments and constructed by Lawrence Baker Limited, and will include luxury facilities to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives, including its own cinema, café, pub and a hair and beauty salon.

Justin Daley, Development Project Manager for Care UK, said: “The home naming process is one of the key milestones for a new care home, so we’re excited to officially announce that Erdington’s brand-new Care UK home will be named Elderflower Grange.

“We are very much looking forward to the home taking shape throughout 2025 and opening with its new name in spring 2026.”

Designed to allow residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new Care UK home will incorporate plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
