Construction has begun on a new multi-million-pound care home in Gerrards Cross – complete with its very own cinema, hair and beauty salon and café.
When finished, the Care UK home on Packhorse Road will provide full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care for up to 84 older people and will create approximately 109 jobs.
The home, which is expected to welcome the first residents in summer 2028, will include luxury facilities and en-suite rooms alongside a spa bathroom. Secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor spaces will include sensory gardens and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time in the fresh air.
Jason Protheroe, Development Project Manager for Care UK, said: “We’re excited that work has commenced at our new Gerrards Cross location, marking an exciting step towards giving local families access to modern, high-quality care closer to home.
“We’ve thought carefully about every detail – from gardens to social spaces – to help future residents lead active and fulfilling lives. It’s fantastic to see the team on site, and we’re looking forward to bringing this vision to life.”
Jason Bell, Contracts Manager at Carter Lauren Construction, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on its new Gerrards Cross care home, bringing our expertise as a contractor to the project.
“Construction is off to a great start and we’re looking forward to naming our care home in the coming months – with work on track to complete by summer 2028.”
The new Care UK home will incorporate plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
