Care UK celebrates National Activity Awards shortlistings

Care UK colleagues have been shortlisted for two National Activity (NAPA) Awards, highlighting the provider’s dedication to supporting residents to have meaningful lifestyles.

Sajal Rai, Activity Coordinator for Bourley Grange, and the team at St Vincent’s House have both been shortlisted for awards at the National Activity Awards in 2026.

Sajal, who puts together a varied timetable of activities at Bourley Grange care home in Fleet is nominated for the Positive Ageing Prize.

After starting his career as a carer, Sajal went on to become a senior carer, and eventually activity coordinator after discovering a true passion for developing and implementing activities.

In his role, he has shown his dedication to improving the wellbeing  of residents by creating a varied, engaging programme tailored to individual interests and abilities.

Sajal is instrumental in fulfilling residents’ wishes, from supporting one to attend ABBA Voyage to helping another resident to relive fond memories on the Isle of Wight.

The team at St Vincent’s House in Hammersmith has also been shortlisted, for the Working Together Award.

This award celebrates the power of collaboration and partnership, whilst highlighting the principle of joint enterprise in developing creative approaches to activity and engagement.

St Vincent’s House often works with local schools, faith groups and volunteers, as well as charities, such as TimeGivers and the Honeypot Children's Charity.

Kerry Reyes, Home Manager at St Vincent’s House, said: “These meaningful connections enrich daily life, combat loneliness, and foster a renewed sense of purpose for residents. It helps to contribute to a vibrant atmosphere where residents feel connected, valued, and engaged.

“Through these collaborative efforts, we aim to create not just a home, but a community where every resident can flourish, finding joy, meaning, and a deep sense of belonging.”
