A new care home in Erdington has announced the appointment of its management team.
Care UK has selected Jag Singh as the Home Manager to lead the team at Elderflower Grange, on Orphanage Road, when it opens in April 2026.
Joining Jag is Rachel Mackay, who has been given the role of Customer Relations Manager. Rachel will be the first point of contact for all potential residents and their relatives, working to ensure a smooth process for all, from showing a family around the home to supporting their loved one when moving in.
Michelle Oliphant, Regional Director for Care UK, said: “Elderflower Grange marks an important investment for Care UK, and we’re thrilled to have Jag and Rachel on board.
“Every detail of the home has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, but having the right team is key to the overall wellbeing of the residents. Jag and Rachel have plenty of experience, passion and empathy, and I’m confident they will be fantastic additions to the home.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jag and Rachel to appoint the rest of the team ahead of the home opening next year.”
Jag brings with him more than 14 years of experience in the care sector and has been managing homes for a number of years.
He was initially drawn to the industry due to a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals living in care. What began as a desire to make a positive impact has developed into a deep professional dedication to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
Jag most recently joined Blossomfield Grange in Solihull and quickly became an integral member of the team.
Jag said: “I am really pleased to be joining Elderflower Grange and am excited to contribute to the development and success of the home.
“I look forward to working collaboratively with colleagues and establishing strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families. I am eager to bring my experience, professionalism and commitment to excellence to this next stage of my career.
“I am also thrilled to welcome new residents to Elderflower Grange and ensure they experience a smooth, positive transition into the home.”
Bringing more than 13 years of care home experience to her role, Rachel joined Care UK in 2017, starting her journey at Brook Court in Kidderminster and more recently working at Mercia Grange in Sutton Coldfield.
Her favourite part of the working day is helping others and making a difference to someone’s day.
Rachel said: “No day is ever the same. I love how diverse the role is!
“I’m very excited to work with a new team, create a home experience that fulfils residents' lives and build new contacts in the local community to support and work alongside.”
Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, Elderflower Grange will provide full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and include its own cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub.
