Care UK celebrates Care Home Awards success

Care UK’s commitment to supporting residents has been nationally recognised, as the organisation took home the large care provider of the year accolade at the 2026 Care Home Awards.

At the ceremony, which took place on Friday 15th May, colleagues from across Care UK also received awards for consistent high-quality care, ancillary services within care homes and innovative and accessible refurbishments. The full list of awards is as follows:

  • Outstanding Larger Group Care Provider - Care UK
  • Outstanding Care Provider in a Group - Parsons Grange
  • Best for Care Home Development - Blossomfield Grange
  • Best Facilities Management, Maintenance or Housekeeping Team - Ridley Manor

Highly commended:

Care UK’s dedication to care quality is evidenced by statistics, with 91.5% of Care UK’s homes in England rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ – 8% above the average for the sector as a whole.

In Scotland and Wales, homes continue to strive to provide excellence in their care and enrich residents' lives. In Scotland, Care UK continues to be one of the top-rated private care providers, with all our homes rated 4 or 5 (‘Very Good' or 'Good') by the Care Inspectorate.

Parsons Grange in Berkshire is a perfect example of an exceptional home at Care UK, and its award win for Outstanding Care Provider in a Group is showcases this. It also has a reputation for providing compassionate and high-quality care alongside strong colleague engagement and career development. The team engages with the local community, forging meaningful relationships with organisations and people outside of the home, creating a positive impact on residents and all those who visit.

Winning the award for Best for Care Home Development, the refurbishment of Blossomfield Grange in Solihull breathed new life into a homely design.

The home now incorporates more space for leisure activities and hobbies, with top-of-the-range facilities for promoting relaxation and wellness. The building has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents, with a series of updates to the memory care suite aimed at enabling residents to live more independently in a beautiful setting.

Ridley Manor’s Housekeeping Team Manager, Andy Young, also saw success with his award for Best Facilities Management, Maintenance or Housekeeping Team.

Andy is known as ‘Handy Andy’ by residents in the High Wycombe home, and they really appreciate everything he does for them, from decorating their rooms to creating storage and getting involved in their activities, such as Care UK’s Fixer Uppers campaign. Along with other colleagues, he is part of the team which gets to know residents on admission, noting information about their previous lives, hobbies and interests so that their time as part of the Ridley Manor family is tailored to them.

Additionally, Heathlands House in Cambridge was Highly Commended in the Best for Nursing Care category. One standout-out reason for their commendation comes from their participation in a pioneering partnership with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust through the RADAR and Virtual Ward project – the first of its kind in the UK.

Heathlands House is one of five care homes in the UK involved in this innovative collaboration which provides hospital-level clinical oversight to residents within the comfort and familiarity of their own care home environment, avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions and improving end-of-life comfort, safety and dignity.

These awards are just one of many examples of Care UK’s commitment and dedication to outstanding care practices across the board.
