Superb facilities, a great location, and activities galore… At Ancasta Grove there will be something for every resident to enjoy.
At Care UK our approach to care is all about supporting residents to continue enjoying a meaningful lifestyle – doing whatever brings them purpose and joy. Keeping active and engaged in everyday life has been proven to reduce falls and promote wellbeing in older people. It’s even thought to slow the development of dementia in individuals with this diagnosis.
A personalised approach to care
Getting to know your loved one is key to providing activities and experiences that they’ll love, so when they first join us, we’ll work with you and your loved one to put together a life story book. This is all about your loved one’s career, family, interests, holidays and places they’ve lived – even pets they’ve had. No detail is too small to be included – in fact, it’s the little details that really matter to us.
Spend your day as you wish
When we have a good understanding of your loved one, we’ll put together care and lifestyle plans that will enable them to live each day in the way they wish – whether that’s helping in the garden, enjoying regular exercise sessions, dancing, baking, music or artistic pastimes.
Our lifestyle team will organise a range of group and one-to-one activities each day, plus regular outings to the seaside or to local historic towns like Winchester or Chichester, or to the many world-class museums that are on our doorstep in Portsmouth.
Welcoming family and friends
We’re looking forward to getting to know members of the local community, and inviting them in to give talks or do activities. Intergenerational activities are always a big hit with residents, so we’re hoping to forge links with local schools and nurseries so we can do fun activities together. Professional entertainers will visit on a regular basis, and we plan to host our own events when we can open our doors to friends from the community.
Our new Ancasta Grove care home is in a fantastic location, between Southampton and Portsmouth, just off the M27 and close to the M3. We’re easy to find but in a charming wooded setting, close to the picturesque River Hamble. You will be welcome to visit your loved one whenever you wish, and stay for as long as you like – join in activities, stay for a meal, or take your loved one out for the day. We hope you come to see our home as your home too.
