Meet our friendly care team

The dedicated and experienced team at Ellesmere House will provide your loved one with care that’s completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

Margaret Kimathi

Home Manager

Margaret Kimathi

I first joined Care UK as the goals and visions of the company aligned well with my personal beliefs and aspirations.

The team are well taken care of, and there is true dedication from all the team and strong leadership from top to bottom.

Being offered a job as a Home Manager has been the biggest highlight of my career so far. When I joined the company as a registered nurse six years ago, I never dreamt I would one day lead my own team.

Each day I enjoy feeling confident that all the needs of the people we are trusted to care for are met, they are safe, and they are well looked after. It gives me great personal satisfaction.

I am proud that I have carried the team with me in fulfilling the vision of the company. Having among the highest staff retention rates in the region and company is also a highlight for me. To see residents and relatives choose us daily. To see residents dignified and with their wishes met at their end of life, as evidenced by reviews, is quite humbling.

Tunde Hanti
Deputy Manager

I qualified as a nurse in Canada and have worked at Care UK since 2008. I’ve completed my Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification and am a dementia care trainer.

Being promoted to the Deputy Manager position at Ellesmere House was the best moment of my career so far. I love being in charge of keeping the home running well, and I look forward to spending time with the residents and engaging with team members and relatives every day. In this role, you need to be professional, knowledgeable and have good communication skills. Every day is different in a care home – there is never a dull moment!

Outside of work, I like to keep busy, studying or going to the gym.

Luchian Dragomirescu
Clinical Lead

I have worked at Care UK since 2016, rising up the ranks from a Healthcare Assistant to Team Leader and Registered Nurse after I qualified as a nurse. From there, I was promoted to Clinical Lead.

Before coming to the UK and becoming a nurse, I worked as a customer service representative.

I think it’s important to be committed, disciplined and consistent, and I enjoy helping the residents and team members however I can. I enjoy creating strong relationships within the home and helping meet everyone’s needs.

When I’m not working, I enjoy travelling and visiting new places.

Zoe Konate
Head Chef

I am passionate about food and wanted to bring my experience in cooking to a place like Care UK, where seeing the smiles on the resident’s faces brings me joy. Since joining in 2017 I am happy coming into work every day knowing I am part of a great team. We are all reliable, hardworking and have a positive mind set which helps us to create great environment for everyone.

When I am not at work I love my church community, gospel songs and I love to unwind by staying active at the gym.

Surbhi Aneja
Business Manager

Working in the care sector is incredibly rewarding. I joined Care UK in 2022 after studying International Business Management and going on to work as an Operational Assistant Manager in a textile company.

Every day at Ellesmere House brings something new, but my favourite part of my role is payroll and billing.

It’s important as a Business Manager to be a strong leader and have good time management skills. I enjoy every day at Ellesmere House, and I love my job.

When I’m not at work, I unwind with music as well as cooking, shopping and travelling.

Petronela Spiridon
Receptionist

I started working at Care UK in 2019 after relocating to the UK and looking for a new challenge. Since then, I have worked my way up, being promoted from Head Housekeeper to Receptionist, and I look forward to continuing to learn and develop to become a Business Administrator.

I’ve already achieved my Level 5 qualification in Business Management, and before Care UK I gained management experience in a casino.

To do this job, you need to be able to prioritise, multitask and manage time impeccably. But the best part of each day is sharing moments with the residents and the rest of the team.

Outside of work, I love gardening to relax. I’m also a professional nail technician and have a nail salon at home.

Kevin McKenna
Maintenance

I worked as a Site Manager for a construction company before joining Care UK in 2021. I saw the job advertised and thought it would suit me. There are many aspects of work involved in running the home, and I love that every day is different – plus, we all have a good laugh while doing it.

I’m passionate about keeping the safety of residents and colleagues front and centre, and in this role it helps to be a good communicator and a jack of all trades.

Meeting different people – residents and team members – is a big highlight of my job.

My family is very important to me, and I enjoy spending time with them – especially my three-year-old grandson – when I’m not working. I play golf, cribbage and rugby, and I’m also a member of the Western Front Association.

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. Each of our homes have a trained Infection Control and Prevention Champion – they are responsible for carrying out daily infection control audit and ensuring cleaning protocols are meticulously applied.
