Jasmin Lanzaderas

Home Manager

Jasmin Lanzaderas

I’m a registered nurse by background and have a long-standing passion for dementia care, which is one of the reasons I joined Care UK.

I was previously Deputy Manager here at Hollins Park, and I’m proud to now be leading the team as Home Manager. I’m part of the Future Home Managers training scheme, and take part in regular in-house training to keep growing in my role.

To do this job well, you need to be highly organised, adaptable and above all, a great communicator. I love seeing residents smiling, enjoying the home and getting involved in everything we have to offer.

In terms of career highlights, I’ve been honoured to receive the Elsie Wagg scholarship and become a Queen’s Nurse. I also had the opportunity to help create the beautiful garden at Hollins Park.

What makes me proud in my role is knowing that I’m helping residents live safe, happy lives. I’m always so grateful that residents’ families are happy to leave their loved ones in our care.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking and gardening.

Deputy Manager

I joined Care UK after deciding I wanted a career change where I could help others. When I saw an opening for a Care Assistant at Station House, it felt like the perfect opportunity.

Since then, I’ve worked as a Unit Manager for the dementia suite at Care UK’s Station House care home, and I’m now proud to be Deputy Manager here at Hollins Park. My biggest career highlight to date has been progressing to my current Deputy Manager role.

I’ve completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 and am currently working towards Level 4. I’m also part of Care UK’s Future Deputy Managers course, which is helping me grow further in my role. I believe being compassionate, empathetic and adaptable is key to this job, along with strong leadership skills and good time management.

My favourite part of my day is interacting with residents and building bonds with them. The most important part of my role is making sure that all residents and colleagues feel safe and happy.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children, family and friends. I also love football and travelling.

I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse, and I’ve worked for Care UK for many years. I used to work at Crewe Hospital, but my passion for dementia care led me to move into care home nursing.

Supporting people who are living with dementia is extremely rewarding, and I believe in seeing the person behind the dementia. The residents are like family to us here at Hollins Park. There’s a strong sense of community in our home, and we love having visitors.

We’ve a strong clinical team here at Hollins Park and both our home manager and deputy are experienced nurses too. Working with our care team, we ensure residents experience the best possible care. As the IPC champion I deliver training and offer information and advice to all colleagues to ensure we’re achieving the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the home every minute of every day.

I’ve worked in the care sector for twenty years, and used to be a senior carer in a residential home. When I was looking for a new challenge, I knew I wanted to stay working in the sector. This seemed the ideal role to enable me to try something new while staying in a sector I love.

Every day is different in this role, but everything I do is focused on ensuring the best possible quality of life for the people we care for. I aim to listen to every resident’s needs, and to be empathetic and non-judgmental. It’s important to manage your time well too, and to think on your feet as things change quickly.

Every person we care for is unique, with unique needs, and every interaction with them is unique. I tailor activities to suit each person’s needs and interests so they get the most out of each day.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and getting out into the garden.

I worked in office-based roles for over 30 years, and, before joining the team at Hollins Park, I was a credit control administrator. When I was looking for a change, I did my research and discovered that Care UK had a great reputation for care, and for supporting its colleagues, so I applied for this role.

I’d never worked in a care home before, but I’m so proud to be part of the team here. My colleagues and managers are amazing. I love making the residents smile and supporting my colleagues with any issues. I’m looking forward to getting to know residents’ loved ones as well as learning more about the lovely people we care for.

I am a big cricket fan and have achieved a L3 Accreditation in Scoring. I score for Macclesfield CC, Cheshire Academy and England Disabilty.
