Join Larkland House for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

April 13th 2018

Larkland House is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 20th April, from 11.30am–4pm the team at Larkland House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Larkland House has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a special dog show with awards for the ‘king and queen’, a performance of wartime classics from the Swingtime Sweethearts and traditional high tea.

Shawnwell Barker home manager at Larkland House, said: “At Larkland House, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing all age generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.

“We look forward to welcoming the people of Ascot for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”

Providing expert care, our team at Larkland House offers compassion, understanding and professional care for your loved one. There are comfortable lounges, sumptuous dining rooms, and bright, welcoming en-suite rooms.

Our team always takes the time to listen and learn about every residents’ life story, their likes and dislikes, hobbies and family. These details are then incorporated into their tailored care, helping them feel at home and valued.

With a wide range of life enriching daily activities, including baking, gentle exercise and crafts, residents can choose which, if any, they wish to take part in. This encourages independence and the continuation of cognitive agility. There are quizzes, exercise activities such as skittles, and even pamper sessions in the hair salon to enjoy. We have also embraced new technology and residents have access to electronic tablets, allowing them to stream concerts, or connect with loved ones.

Light and spacious en-suite rooms allow your loved one to decorate with treasured possessions, while comfortable lounges and spacious dining rooms provide plenty of space to relax or socialise. Larkland House offers a home from home for your loved one.
