Scoonie House is a welcoming care home in the seaside village of Leven. Our experienced teams offer residential and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis.

Scoonie House is a converted Victorian period property, situated in established and wooded grounds adjacent to quiet parkland. Residents can enjoy many quality facilities including a café, activity room and a hair and beauty salon. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities, and the spacious living spaces and landscaped gardens are ideal to receive visiting loved ones.

Our dedicated activities team organises a wide range of engaging activities and outings to local places of interest, including the coastline of Largo Bay.

I ensure residents have the opportunity to participate in the day-to-day running of the home so that we understand what is important to them and can provide the care and attention they need. I also create opportunities for residents to contribute to the local community, helping to give them a sense of freedom and belonging.

My loved one has settled in well, they have made the whole family feel welcome and supported through the transition into care. The team made a clear effort to get to know about his life and develop a personal relationship with him from the moment he arrived. It’s a good environment for him and it’s a relief knowing he has the support and attention that he needs. He was unwell recently and I was impressed with how quickly and proactively they responded to the change in his condition.

The place feels really homely, not at all clinical like other places I’ve seen. My loved one is treated like one of the family, they take a person-centred approach to care. They get to know the residents and their families and they seem to genuinely want my loved one to have the best quality of life as possible. He has physical limitations but they actively encourage him to join in with activities and gentle exercise and they provide support so he can go out of the home on day trips.
