Corks popped as we celebrated 10 years of care with a day of anniversary celebrations.

Festivities at Beech Hurst began with a champagne reception at 2.30pm, followed by a visit from local MP Nicholas Soames.

The Mayor planted a tree, and Tony Hosking, managing director of the Residential Care Services department of Care UK which runs our home, cut the celebration cake.

Three residents and four members of staff have been at Beech Hurst since it opened.

Certificates were given to  Pepe Pellegrin and Yoli Mahadeo ,both RMN staff nurses, Jim McQuade an RMN and the unit manager, and Nadeeka Wickremaratchi  a care assistant.

Gifts were presented to the residents John Hyde, Kenny Pennell and Marge Puckham.

The afternoon’s events were followed by an open invitation to anyone with a connection to the home – professional care workers, family and friends – to a buffet supper.

Home manager Jackie Cox commented: “  We are delighted that we were able to celebrate with residents and members of staff who have been at Beech Hurst since it opened.”
