National Nurses' Week preparations underway at Top Rated Hospital

Company news

Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre has a few surprises planned for its dedicated and caring nursing staff as the centre prepares to celebrate National Nurses' Week (6-12 May).

The centre employs 68 dedicated and caring nurses and to recognise their crucial role, nurses will be given special goodie bags to celebrate the week.

A ‘Top Nurse’ award will also be presented to one of Barlborough's nurses.  Nominations for this award will be made by patients and staff who will be asked to vote for their favourite nurse.  The nomination process will be promoted on the Centre’s website and on its Facebook profile.

Former patient Jeanette from West Bridgford, Nottingham comments:  “The medical treatment was first class and the nurses were friendly and efficient throughout the hospital.”

National Nurses' Day takes place within National Nurses' Week.  The reason that Nurses' Day is celebrated on the 12th May is because it’s the birth date of Florence Nightingale. She made many improvements to nursing and health care and radically cut the death rate amid soldiers in the Crimean War as a consequence of her hard work, devotion and tuition of fellow nurses. During the week, nurses globally are recognised for their hard work and devotion.

Graeme Kendall, Manager at Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre said: “Our nurses are a credit to the Centre.  We receive so many lovely comments from patients telling us how they are extremely well looked after by our nurses. National Nurses' Week at Barlborough is going to be filled with fun and exciting ideas and the patients will undoubtedly be joining in with the celebrations.”
