Social care inspectors award Harrow service Good rating

Company news

The independent regulator of health and social care in England ran a rigorous and robust inspection of Care UK’s work with older people in Harrow, looking at all aspects of the service, including staff communication and recruitment, monitoring and record keeping, staff training and the feedback procedure. After their inspection, the CQC decided that the service was deserving of a ‘good’ rating.

Care UK’s Regional Operations Director Donna Cousins said: “I am so proud of the Harrow team. They have worked incredibly hard and well to ensure an excellent resource for service users”.

“We have worked at every aspect of making the service as good as it can be. We have made continuity of care a priority ensuring that service users get the right type of carer at the time they need them”.

“The older people who use our services rely on them for all types of care, whether that be 24 hours a day, seven days a week or a few hours a week to go shopping and meet up with friends so we have worked on our communications to ensure they know immediately if their carer is running late or is unwell.”

As home care providers, Care UK staff work to help older people retain independence in their own home. Help ranges from providing extra assistance with day-to-day activities - including personal care, household tasks or providing companionship - to more specialised requirements including round the clock care and support for people with complex dementia needs.
