Skydiving staff raise money for Broadwater Lodge

Home news

Six staff took to the skies to raise around £2,000 for Broadwater Lodge’s residents’ welfare fund.

The team, who work at Broadwater Lodge and Jubilee House homes, did a parachute jump from a mile and half up to raise the cash.

Home manager and jumper Phillip Steyn explained: “The fund is run by a committee of residents’ relatives and staff and it provides those extras that enhance residents’ lives.

“In the past they have raised money for a reminiscence room, for additional work and equipment in the garden and games.”

Phillip added: “It was a fabulous experience made all the more special by knowing that the money will go to such worthwhile projects. Our ethos is always to go the extra mile – it is just this time it was a mile and a half and it was up!”
