Staff at Barlborough treatment centre are urging residents not to put off minor procedures until after Christmas.
Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre has appointments as usual between Christmas and New Year, for a range of orthopaedic procedures, which can be booked now. Many of the centre’s treatments such as bunion removal and joint pain relief injections can be carried out as day cases, and use the latest clinical procedures, enabling patients to return home to recover quickly. The centre can also often combine diagnostics and clinical procedures within one visit, reducing the time NHS patients need for their treatment.
Barlborough will be open as usual between Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th December and patients need to be referred by their GP to the centre for treatment.
“Many people could be tempted to put off a treatment until the New Year, but in fact the benefits of getting a minor complaint treated as early as possible will help residents get their 2012 off to a fantastic start,” said Graeme Kendall, General Manager. Some employers allow staff to take the days between Christmas and New Year as additional annual leave, so this could be a way to get an issue treated without having to take more time off work for recovery.”
“The best course of action is to speak to your GP about any procedures that require a referral, and they will be able to advise you on available options at the centre.”
