We couldn’t wait until Christmas!

Home news

Christmas festivities are well underway at Cheviot Court, with the start of the season marked by the arrival of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

Home Administrator Heather Wileman said: “We love our tree and our residents want to get it out and dressed as soon as possible. It’s quite a feat as it is over eight feet tall and weighs a lot.

“It usually takes us a couple of days to get it all done and our Manager and Chief Tree Trimmer Louise Damms leads us in the decoration. The residents take charge of organising the bows and we climb up or shuffle around to put them on.

“There are also some beautiful butterflies that go on the tree and each year we have a different arrangement around the tree – last year it was Father Christmas, but this year we have been joined by Frosty the Snowman.

“Everyone is already feeling a lot more Christmassy!”
