We celebrate Dignity Action Day with a tea party

Home news

February saw Forrester Court celebrating national Dignity Action Day which is designed to make people think about dignity in care.

As choice is such a vital part of dignity, we asked the residents how they would like to celebrate: they told us a tea party with lots of fun and party food.

Around 20 residents joined in the fun and along with the friends and family they had invited, and packed out one of the home’s lounges for an afternoon tea party.

Activities Coordinator Edward Brunning said: “The music was chosen by the residents and, as usual, the karaoke was very popular, with songs from Elvis Presley and the classic crooners being the most requested ,along with traditional Irish folk songs.

“The day was a great chance for people to catch up with fellow residents from other areas within the home and to have a good knees-up and sing-a-long.”
