We win awards for our commitment to training

Home news

Riverside’s commitment to training and excellence has been recognised by Manchester University and the nationally-recognised human resources management standard Investors in People.

You may have met trainee nurse Ashley Williams, who joined us during the earlier part of the year for part of her course.

Ashley, who is studying at Manchester University, was mentored by one of our nurses, Lisa O’Neil, and she was so impressed with Lisa and everyone else’s commitment to providing excellent care that she nominated us for a special Manchester University award that recognises “Excellence in Practice”.

Our Manager Beverley Taylor said: “I was delighted when the university notified us about the award. We are committed to providing excellent person-centred care and we see training as being at the heart of excellence.

“I was also delighted that we had been able to help a new nurse on her way in the profession by sharing our expertise and experiences.”

We also received the Investors in People silver standard award after an inspection from the body that measures and monitors how we work with our team. The inspector spent two days with us and interviewed members of the team about work, training and development opportunities.

Beverley said: “I was very pleased to hear back from the inspectors that our team is very positive about their work, the training they do and about their opportunities with Care UK, where it is possible to rise from care assistant to regional director with the right skills, attitude and commitment.”
