Earlier this month the RCS (residential care services) Awards took place, an internal awards ceremony which was open to Care UK’s 110 care homes, nursing homes and day and wellbeing centres across the country. The Pinetum domestic team were fortunate enough to be put forward for the Housekeeping award, a category which is open to any housekeeping team or individual in a care home or day centre.
The Pinetum Domestic Team was nominated by Adele Elliot, Activities Co-ordinater, as she thought the team was such a worthy winner. Below is a short snippet of why Adele thought the team deserved this award:
“The support they give to residents and the activity team is integral to activity based care and fulfilling residents lives. Without being asked, they are always ready to help with daily activities, games, arts and crafts, meal times, coach trips, fundraising and special activities such as birthday celebrations.
They in my opinion never receive enough recognition for their efforts, not only providing a beautiful home for residents and all who visit Pinetum, but a calm and peaceful but fun environment for everyone too.”
Pinetum subsequently won the Housekeeping award, fending off strong competition from Care UK’s other care homes, nursing homes and day and wellbeing centres across the country.
