Crabbe Street Team Leader nominated for National Care Award

Company news

On Friday 29th November the 15th National Care Awards took place at the Hilton Metropole, London. Care UK was fortunate enough to be nominated for three categories, one of which was for ‘Excellence in Resident Handling’. The nominee was Libby Hoy, a Team Leader at Crabbe Street care home in Suffolk.

Libby was nominated by Pam Purnell, Home Manager, as she thought Libby was such a worthy winner. Below is a short snippet of why Pam thought Libby deserved this award:

“I feel Libby should be recognised for her outstanding performance in manual handling for residents. Over the years, continuity and support for both staff and residents has been paramount and Libby has delivered this with sensitivity, respect and always places a very high emphasis on health and safety.

Libby started work at Crabbe Street in 1996. She has undergone extensive training and has been promoted several times – she now handles equipment assessments, risk assessments, all new staff training and refresher training, as well as health and safety for the home. Her hard work and dedication helped us to achieve an almost perfect compliance in our recent health and safety audit.”

Despite being nominated, Libby did not win the award as there were some other outstanding nominations. Libby continues to work as hard as ever at Crabbe Street, where she has worked for seventeen years.
