Heather View hosts successful seminar

Home news

Heather View care home in Crowborough held a Dementia Seminar on Saturday 15th March.  The event was a real success and proved very popular with the 28 people who attended. The Seminar was led by Mark Harrison, who is a shining example of the quality of information and dementia training provided for Care UK’s care staff.

Comments from attendees were both positive and appreciative of Mark’s experience, knowledge and engaging style. Mark session was a very open session with many questions from those attending. He covered coping tactics with potential challenging behaviour, how to communicate and useful exercises to experience what it may be like to have dementia when communicating or taking in information and instructions.

Below are extracts from 2 email received following the event:

Attendees were very positive about the event and said “I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the seminar on Saturday morning, thank you. I found it extremely useful, informative and enlightening and was really pleased that I was able to attend. Mark Harrison is a very talented and gifted trainer.  I found his style very easy and comprehensive to follow - even though he packed an awful lot of information into such a short time period!”, Pauline Simpson.

Another attendee, Paula Woodward, said, “Mr Harrison was a captivating speaker who left me with much food for thought”.

Our Next Seminar is Care Fee Planning and Power of Attorney on Thursday 11th September 10:30am. Speakers are Jon Hutton–Attenborough (Ashcourt Rowan) and Julie Miller (Core Law).
