Residents in Framlingham are encouraged to visit Care UK’s Mills Meadow care home on Fore Street in the town, where a variety of activities have been arranged in support of Dementia Awareness Week 2014.
The Dementia Awareness event is on Saturday 24th May from 3pm to 6pm and it is open to everyone.
The aim is to help raise people’s awareness and understanding of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and the ways they can help a loved one with the illness.
Activities coordinator at Mills Meadow, Roz Ingate, says: “We will be running a ‘Dementia Worries Discussion’ with the home manager Miranda Warne, who will be talking through and answering questions about the common worries carers face when looking after someone with dementia. Teas, coffees and cakes will also be available from our pop-up café throughout the afternoon.
“It will be a great, informative afternoon and will help raise awareness of dementia amongst the Framlingham community. We look forward to welcoming you all on Saturday afternoon.”
