Open Day at The Willows Care Home in Middlesbrough

Residents in Middlesborough are invited to take a closer look at The Willows care home on Friday 20th June from 11:00am to 3:00pm, when the Care UK team opens its doors as part of National Care Home Open Day.

The Willows, which is run by leading health and social care provider Care UK, is fully embracing National Care Home Open Day, which aims to welcome members of the public to their local care homes, connecting residents with their communities, and changing perceptions of care homes.

Visitors to The Willows on Cavendish Road can take part in a host of family-friendly activities as part of a 1940’s themed day. The team at the care home will be suitably dressed in 1940’s attire and there will be photographs of residents and their families from their youth. Refreshments and tours of the home will be available throughout the day.

Attendees of the open day at The Willows will also be able to pick up complimentary copies of Care UK’s ‘As Easy As ABC’ guide and the recently launched ‘Listen, Talk, Connect’. The popular guides provide practical information for those caring for loved ones living with dementia, as well as advice on how to communicate with a loved one in a care home and make the most of their visits.
