The Care UK team behind Scarlet House care home is urging local people to put the spotlight on their very own heroes before Tuesday 26 August.
Elizabeth Miles, customer relations manager at Scarlet House, explained what the judges are looking for: “Within the care sector we see the excellent work people do day-in and day-out to make a difference to the lives of others. As we prepare to welcome the first residents to Scarlet House in September, we decided to launch an appeal for Stroud’s local heroes to put the focus on the local community and to recognise the inspirational people in and around the town who are considered to be everyday heroes.
“Perhaps you know someone who has touched the lives of those around them by always putting others first. Or maybe they have overcome the odds in some way to achieve their goals. If you know someone who brightens your day and makes Stroud a better place to live we would love to hear from you, so please do fill in a nomination form in the next few weeks and share their story.”
When nominations close on Tuesday 26 August a panel of judges will select one of the nominees to be the guest of honour at the official opening of Scarlet House, which will take place at the care home on the afternoon of Friday 7 November. The nominee and the person who nominated them will each receive a £150 John Lewis voucher.
Nomination forms can be downloaded at careuk.com/scarlet-house or paper copies are available at Scarlet House, which is situated at 123 Westward Road. Alternatively, email elizabeth.miles@careuk.com for more information.
