New appointment strengthens team at new Stroud care home

Company news

Care UK has announced a key appointment at Scarlet House in a move which strengthens its 65-strong team at the Stroud care home.

Situated at 123 Westward Road in Ebley, around a mile from Stroud Train Station, Scarlet House is a new, purpose-built care home which welcomed its first residents in September 2014 and now provides a range of care services for older people.

Jim MacLeod has joined the home in the role of customer relations manager to provide the all-important link between the care home and prospective residents, their families and friends. Jim will also act as the lynchpin between the home and the local community, developing relationships with local businesses, charities and individuals.

Having worked in sales and customer service for 30 years – of which the last 12 years were spent in the hospitality industry, Jim brings a wealth of relevant skills and a person-centred approach to his new role.

Pyela Mwale, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Jim to the team at Scarlet House. One of the newest homes in Care UK’s portfolio, every detail has been considered here to provide the highest standards of activity based care, and having the right people on board is key to the overall experience of residents – both now and in the future.

“Jim is a highly-experienced, skilled individual with a successful track record, and I am sure he will play an important part in ensuring Scarlet House continues to go from strength to strength.”

Jim added: “I am very proud to be on board at Scarlet House and it is incredibly exciting to be part of a team that has already built a first class reputation for the new care home. I am now looking forward to taking the time to get to know residents and their families, while also working closely with our neighbours to boost the profile of Scarlet House and to firmly establish the home as part of the local community.”

Scarlet House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short term respite, palliative, and sensitive end of life care.

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, it has a cinema, hair and beauty room, and coffee shop. Each bedroom benefits from an en-suite wet room, together with a flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed, and 24-hour nurse call system.
