Schedule of events at Scarlet House care home

Company news

Care UK’s Scarlet House is hosting a series of hopping events in April and inviting those in Stroud and surrounding areas to come visit the home over the Easter period.

On Thursday 2 April, the home team will be celebrating Easter with an Easter bonnet parade in the home’s purpose built cinema. There will also be a screening of Easter Parade.

Following this, on Tuesday 21 April from 11.00am-12.30pm, Neil Mapes from Dementia Adventure will be joining the team at Scarlet House to share his knowledge and provide practical tips for those caring for someone living with dementia. Neil will help people understand the condition, learn how memories are lost and give guidance on how to overcome communication barriers.

Pyela Mwale, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “We like to make the most of all opportunities to open our doors and invite people from the local community into the home. The dementia adventure seminar is very important as we want to open up direct access to professionals who can provide advice to those caring for a loved one living with dementia. We’re always trying to think of new ways to connect with the local community and fun events we can host at Scarlett House. The Easter Bonnet competition will be a great day for all involved and is an opportunity for the residents to join together for a fun day with family and friends.”

Those who attend the events at Scarlet House will also be able to collect a copy of Listen, Talk, Connect – a free guide which helps friends and relatives to overcome the challenges they may face in having conversations and general interaction with those living with dementia.

Situated in Ebley, Scarlet House is a state-of-the-art care home designed to deliver the very best standards of care, and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home offers a range of services including residential care, specialist dementia care and respite care.
