Care UK helps Cheltenham youth team kick off the new season

Home news

The Charlton Rovers Blues Under 13s, a Charlton Rovers AFC youth team in Cheltenham, has been given a boost from its neighbours at Sandfields care home, in the form of new shirts for the whole team.

The team of 12 and 13 years olds, who play their home matches at Priors Playing Field as part of the Cheltenham Youth Football League, has received a set of 21 match shirts from the care home on St George’s Road. The sporty new shirts feature the club crest and will see the squad on the pitch in matching kit for the first time.

Deanna Lane, home manager at Sandfields, said: “The football club is a brilliant asset to the area and is run by volunteers, including enthusiastic parents, friends of the team and players. We are thrilled to be able to lend a hand to such a worthwhile community club. We know that remaining active is important no matter what your age and this club provides children in the local area with the opportunity to keep fit playing football, while also learning new skills and making friends.”

Mathew Peak, Charlton Rovers Blues U13s manager, said: “We were delighted to receive the donation of the new shirts from Care UK. It has given the whole squad a real boost as the new season gets underway. It’s great that the team can now march proudly on to the pitch in their matching kit.”
