Langley Oaks residents take tea with the Mayor of Croydon

Home news

On Wednesday 7th October, the residents of Langley Oaks care home in South Croydon took part in a very special outing to Fairfield Hall for “Tea with music”.

The event was held in conjunction with the London borough of Croydon’s national campaign aimed at celebrating older people in the community.

Activities coordinator Pamela Thompson arranged for the residents to attend the event and to meet Patricia Hay-Justice, the Mayor of Croydon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon filled with dancing, entertainment and live music. The residents also had the opportunity to enjoy a dining experience seated with the Mayor at the end of the day.

Home manager Jacqueline Johnson said “What a wonderful day we have had. It was a privilege to be invited to this event with the Mayor of Croydon. We encourage residents to stay involved with local community life and this was the perfect opportunity. Everyone at the home has been talking about it since!”
